Biketemberfest - A biketemberfest is a bikefest which traditionally begins in September and might continue until October. It is like a Biketoberfest, but its’ location is not relegated to Daytona Beach, Florida. Biketoberfest is always in October, and is always in Daytona Beach. The use of the word, Biketemberfest, has existed as part of biker lingo, in the bikers public domain, primarily as a pun, for many years. The first known historical use of the term, biketemberfest, to denote a motorcycle rally, was in 1992, the first year of Biketoberfest.
Gypsy MC holds a Biketemberfest celebration, every year, to kickstart the famous Octoberfest celebrations in Germany. This is perhaps the worlds’ most recognized Biketemberfest motorcycle rally.
There is also a group of cyclists, as in bicyclists, in Michigan, who hold a biketemberfest every year in September, sometimes into October, and it appears they’ve been doing it since about 1995 or 1996.
Note, the Biker Calendar often uses similar puns such as Septober, Octember, Nowonder, and Decender.
